John 3:16

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

The Message

Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who does not believe will be punished.

How Do I Accept Jesus?

Let me tell you a story...

Grandfather has many sons and daughters. He loves all of them the same. And He loves all of them with His whole heart. But not all of the sons and daughters love Grandfather the same. Not all of them love Him with their whole heart. He knows this because sometimes when he asks one to do something for him, that one will say "No." Sometimes, one will say "Yes" but then will not do what Grandfather asks. Sometimes, one will go and do it but not with a good heart. Grandfather still loves them.

One day, Grandfather asked his children to go to war against his enemy. He knew the enemy wanted to destroy his children but he knew that he could make his children strong enough to defeat the enemy. But the children wouldn't go. Some were afraid and didn't believe they could be made strong. Some just didn't want to fight. Some wanted Grandfather to fight for them.

But there was one son. One and only one son who always did what Grandfather asked. He knew that this Son loved him with his whole heart. He knew that this one son would do whatever He asked him to. He told him that he would bleed and that he would suffer in the battle. He told this son that for a moment, the enemy would even take his life and, thinking that he'd won the battle, would go after the other children to kill them. But He told his son to not be afraid. He told him he would always be at his side. And He told him that when the enemy took his life away, He would be there to give it back. He also told him that if he would do this, that all the children would be safe from his enemy.

So this son set out for battle. He was beaten. He was tortured. He bled. And then He died. And just like Grandfather told him he would, Grandfather gave him new life. The enemy was now defeated and could not go after the other children. Grandfather brought the son back home and said 'now I will call your brothers and sisters and tell them they have been delivered from the enemy'. He gave this one son a place of honor, so that as they came, each of the sons and daughters could show their respect and show their thankfulness to him for giving his life in battle for them.

Our Creator had one son who obeyed him with his very life. That son's name is Jesus. Jesus died for us. Our Creator, Our Father, raised him up and placed him at His right hand, in a place of honor. How do you accept Jesus? Just say Thank You. Thank you for dying in my place in that battle. Thank you for showing me how much Creator loves me and for showing me how to truly love Creator. Thank you for forgiving me for all the times I lived my life without honor and in disobedience. Please fill me with your strength and your power to live my life in honor and obedience to You, Our Father.
